Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

The balance of power is officially shifting in my family. The girls will now outnumber the boys. I am having another girl!
Now we have to decide what to name her. I would like something classic, maybe even literary. My husband wants something bland, boring and overused.
My son has decided her name is Molly and will not accept anything else. It is better than Lightning McQueen, his previous pick. You might note, however, that Molly is the name of Andy's little sister from Toy Story.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I can't believe you're having a girl. Everyone I know having a baby this year has had or is going to have a boy, including me! I like the idea of something literary. Something classic! Stella ;) My all time favorite name that my husband will NEVER let me use!

Yay for girls! I love literary and old-fashioned names. My suggestion: Cordelia.

Good luck on a name! My husband and I can never agree--it sounds like the same situation as you. Our first daughter wasn't named for a few months after she was born.

Yeah for girls! Finally...everyone I know has had boys, I was getting worried! Congrats to you and your family...what an exciting time and I so envy you!

I was named after the youngest daughter in Little Women...I think Amy is a great name, but I'm a little biased! Ha!

Congratulations! I have one girl and three boys - I am so glad I got my girl first, or I would have been tempted to keep trying!

Congratulations.

I can't be of any help on this one because every time I start to like a name is becomes ridiculously popular (I guess I have common taste). My favorites are Emma, Isabella, Elizabeth, Grace, Maggie, Rose.

I like your son's idea too, Molly is a cute name.

Congrats! I love that your son had hoped to name her Lightning McQueen! Little kids have the best ideas for names :)

Congratulations! That's wonderful news. I wanted to name our daughter Emma, but my husband thought it was too old-ladyish. If we ever have another girl, I like the name Veronica, but he hates it. I don't think we'll ever agree.

Yay!!!!! Congratulations! I wouldn't know what to do with a girl myself but I am sworn to secrecy with the names we like.

How exciting Jeanette!! Literary, huh? I've got Emma stuck on the brain since my new little niece is named Emma. Can't wait to hear what you decide on.

I love the name Molly! I think you should go for it. And it's even literary. It's the name of the main charcter in one of my favorite books: Wives and Daughters.
